LMS Greenhouse and Nursery celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2010.  LMS has been a family owned business since 1970.  Rich Cafaro, current owner and president, is the third generation involved with the company.  LMS began 41 years ago as a landscape maintenance business with a dream of a garden center.  The Cafaro family, along with Bill McWilliams, put this dream into motion in 1981 when it branched out into the retail business.  We are now a full service nursery and garden center which specializes in stocking unique and hard to find items.  If you don't see something you are looking for, just ask, and we'll try to find it for you. 

 

THE FACILITY:

  • Six greenhouses growing annual and seasonal crops in 11,400 sq. ft.
  • 5,200 square feet under roof for perennials with an additional 3,000 sq. ft. of outdoor space.  Production has been expanded this year with our two new offsite greenhouses.
  • 60,450 sq. ft. of land filled with trees of all shapes, sizes, colors and types.
  • A shrub house with 13,680 sq. ft. filled with various shrubs.
  • The store stocks a large variety of items such as:  fertilizers, pesticides, Espoma, Bayer and Ortho Products, grass seed, deer repellents, lawn tools, trellises, planters, pottery, bird baths, garden art, and much more. . . 
  • We stock bulk and bagged goods of bark mulch, topsoil, compost and mushroom manure.
  • Sod, boulders, straw bales and cordwood are available.

THE STAFF:

  • LMS has several long-time employees, some with over 40 years of experience.
  • Most are genuine garden enthusiasts whose experience comes from the successes and failures in their own gardens and yards.
  • There is continuing employee development through on the job training and outside seminars.

The Green Blade Division

The Green Blade Division deals with preventative and curative care for turf, trees and shrubs.  This division is also fully licensed by the State of Pennsylvania.

We offer timely lawn care along with tree and shrub diagnoses and treatments:

  • Fungicides
  • Insecticides
  • Deep root feeding
  • Safe oil controls
  • Liming

We can also provide athletic field conditioning.
